King Hall Dining
DINING HALL EXPERIENCE
Campers will dine in King Hall, the dining facility for the Brigade of Midshipmen, which can seat over 4,400 people at one time. The staff in the Academy’s Midshipmen Food Service Division plan, prepare, and serve more than 13,500 meals per day which provides campers a great opportunity to experience how Midshipmen eat.
FOOD ALLERGIES/SPECIAL DIETS

King Hall does not cater to any specific diet at the Naval Academy as many food allergies or required special diets are disqualifications for naval service; this policy remains the same for our summer campers, so allergies to common foods or a required special diet (vegetarian, gluten-free) may be a disqualifying condition for attending our camps.
Meals are served family style at each table and, outside of salads and fruit, there is not a buffet nor an option to place an order for specially prepared meals for individual campers. A gluten-free menu is not available to campers.
Peanut oil is not utilized in the on-site food preparation process, but some foods are prepared at an off-site warehouse which may have used it and peanut butter is also available on every table. Therefore, we cannot guarantee peanut allergy accommodations in King Hall (nor any other food allergy accommodations).
Vegetarian meals are not specifically prepared/served, but while at least one meat entree is served each meal, the meat is not served touching the rest of the food (e.g. for spaghetti and meat sauce, the meat sauce would be separate so you could simply not add that to your pasta). So, vegetarian meals are possible but may be limited in protein sources.
If you have a food allergy or diet preference that allows you to evaluate meals on the spot to determine what is safe for you, you will likely be able to attend camp but we would encourage you to bring some supplemental dry food (not requiring refrigeration or heating) just in case and make sure to contact our staff by email to make sure your camper will be able to safely and adequately nourish herself while at camp.
